Going to the Shops
A mother talks about the sort of shops her grandmother visited early in the 20th century, about shopping in the 1920s and 30s and the effect of rationing during the war and post war years.
Then she describes how she spent her pocket money in the 1960s, the introduction of supermarkets and, in the 1980s, the arrival of giant shopping malls and out of town superstores.
